Regressado das viagens por África, Paulo criou o seu próprio negócio de equipamento e acessórios "overland" em Portugal. Confesso apaixonado por viagens de carro por África, desde o Norte, em Marrocos, Mauritânia, Senegal, até ao Sul, na África do Sul, Moçambique, Botsuana ou Namíbia.

E desta última trouxe mais do que memórias e aventuras para contar — trouxe também o nome da empresa.

Returning from African journeys, Paulo created his own overland equipment and accessories business in Portugal. A self-declared passionate about car trips through Africa, from the North, in Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, to the South, in South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana or Namibia, he brought from this last one more than just memories and adventures to tell — he also named the company in its honor.

Solitaire é uma pequena aglomeração de casas no meio do grande deserto da Namíbia, a mais próxima das famosas dunas douradas de Soussvlei e da floresta petrificada. O nome da empresa celebra assim a aventura e as viagens "overland" em viaturas 4x4 num dos locais mais mágicos de África.

Nasce da vontade de partilhar da experiência em viagens na África do Sul — segundo muitos, a nação onde terá nascido o Overland —, seleccionando o material de campismo para possibilitar momentos inesquecíveis. As lojas oferecem desde a simples cadeira, à máquina de café portátil; da tradicional tenda de chão à mais sofisticada tenda de tejadilho eléctrica. Mas o mais incomum na montra de produtos é, porventura, os "camper trailers" africanos, testados na dureza de África.

— "Ninguém vai ficar indiferente a este conceito" — assegura Paulo, antes de convidar todos ao "showroom" em Sintra ou a loja em Lisboa.

Solitaire is a small settlement right in the middle of the great Namibian desert, the closest to the famous golden dunes of Soussvlei and the petrified forest. The name of the company thus celebrates adventure and overland travel in 4x4 vehicles in one of the most magical places in Africa.

It is born from the desire to share the experience of traveling in South Africa — according to many, the Overland motherland—, selecting camping material to make unforgettable moments possible. He offers everything from a simple chair to a portable coffee machine; from the traditional floor tent to the most sophisticated electric roof tent. But the most unusual in the product showcase is, perhaps, the African "camper trailers", tested in the toughness of Africa for a trip in excellence autonomy.

— "No one will be indifferent to this concept" — assures Paulo, before inviting everyone to the showroom in Sintra or the store in Lisbon.
